Dismantling Tv Overview

In my opinion, breaking down the Toshiba was not difficult. The design was user friendly for internal access. However, the case around the master components was glued. But I have a solution for destruction.

The TVs of today that uses LCD or LED technology are very lightweight. Even though I purchased a 50 inch LED Television with someone to help me, I really didn't need the assistance. The box is large merely there were two straps to handle and deport the box. I am non that strong just I was able to elevator the box and move it effectually by myself without any problems.

Older Television receiver employ cathode ray tubes (CRT) to provide video and there have been large CRT TVs made to provide screen sizes up to 36 inches. However, newer engineering science came around to support even larger screen sizes to provide a big screen movie experience. 1 of the technologies that became popular during the late 90'due south to early on 2000'southward, were the Project TVs. There were ii types of projection TVs in the market: front and rear. A rear projection Idiot box looks more similar a standard goggle box.

The rear projection TV contains a ruby-red, green, and blue (RGB) projector, which produces the images to the back of the TV. This projector can exist CRT, LCD, or DLP. The Toshiba 50H82 model uses CRT projectors. The back of the TV contains a mirror, which receives the flick which combines the RGB colors into any color from the original picture source (from cable, satellite, disc, and then on). The prototype that is projected to the rear mirror is what the viewer sees in the front screen.

Put PCB Aside

After separating the cables from board, you can put it aside to work on the next stride. (See Fig 6) Equally yous can encounter it is quite large for a PCB.

Remove Front Panel

Remove Front Screen Part 1

Unscrew RGB Projector

Remove RGB Projector Assembly

Remove Speakers

The left and right speakers are held with 4 screws each side. Remove the speakers to lighten the TV. (Fig 12.5)

Slap-up the Housing

Fifty-fifty with the master circuit board, forepart screen, RGB projection associates and speakers removed, the hollowed out Television receiver is still heavy and very bulky to put in a small truck. Even so, the TV is lighter for moving. Yous can at present put the large Television set in a big truck or van and become rid of it.

Y'all now accept the option of disassembling the TV body even further to send the pieces in a small SUV or car.

The trouble with the rest of the Toshiba 50H82 Television set is that there are no other areas to unscrew. The remaining pieces are glued together. Brute force will be needed to break the residual merely there is a big drinking glass mirror to bargain with.

The mirror slides out up merely the top of the Television receiver is glued and in the way. I took a large heavy duty hammer to dissever the left and correct sides from the Tv. The hammer I used is not the blazon used for removing nails on the other side of the tool. That hammer is besides weak. I used the hammer akin to a pocket-sized sledgehammer like the one Thor uses. Remove Mirrow

Later removing the top, I was able to slide the large mirror out and put information technology aside. (Encounter Fig 14)

Recycling Ideas

After making the large wooden pieces small enough to fit in your van or truck, you lot can neatly stack the pieces in the vehicle and transport to your local landfill.

If you lot desire, the particleboard scrap wood can be reused for making furniture. The husk of the TV's cabinet tin can exist converted to a table or cabinet for the new Goggle box.

Epilogue

The Toshiba 50H82 50 inch rear projection TV has sentimental value. I purchased this TV around 2002 later on my second kid was born and I knew I would be at habitation more to care for them. Having big high definition TV made entertaining kids and guests more fun.

Ten years later, the video started to go fuzzy. I was non able to play any console games similar Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360 anymore. It would cost approximately $100 dollars just to have a technician simply to come up to the firm to troubleshoot.

My Hitachi 57 inch was still working fine simply was getting fuzzy after 16 years. I suspected it had dust inside somewhere. Turns out after tearing it apart It had dust on the lenses that I could have cleaned off had I known how to properly disasemble it. I salvaged a few parts I'm certain I don't need similar the projector lenses. I idea it was interesting that the lamps were cooled past a liquid and in that location was a rubber float on the side of the heat sink housing to permit for expansion and wrinkle of the liquid. It was a realy practiced tv and served me well except for damaging my shoulder while moving it most 12 years ago.

Thanks soooo much! I've been trying to button this 65" piece of Sony "piece of furniture" effectually in this room, knowing full well that there was no way to get it out in one piece. (Information technology took three delivery men, back around the late '90s, to get it in the house. And, they dropped the kickoff 1 off the porch, had to go dorsum and get another one, and one of them injured his back getting it in. I'm solitary with this monster now, and I'yard a 70 year old woman. However, I do some carpentry, haul and shovel stone, pull up fences, and clear cut wielding a 40 pound saw. I'm 5'iii" tall and counterbalance 110 lbs, and my "opponent" weighs in at effectually 300lbs., is an inch or 2 taller than me, and is 65" wide. Now, thank you to y'all, I might very well go information technology out of here before they bring the new one!
